A. www.smartnetlinks.com follows the Better Business Bureau's (I'm not a member of the BBB) recommentdation by having a Privacy Statement posted on site. You can access that statement at Privacy Statement
Q. Why isn't your email directed to SmartNetLinks?A. I receive tons of e-mail offers and way to much spam. I've had one e-mail account terminated because I got way too much mail (averaged 890 junk mails per day.). Yep, thousands of junk e-mail monthly. Thanks to USA.net, my new e-mail service that allows me to identify, then block out the junk mailers. I'm a one-person operation and I've lost customers due to the large volume of mail I waded through. Feel free to contact me with your comments and suggestions since I'm using my personal e-mail account now! I prefer to see what my customers say, want or need.
Q. Why do I track visitors and have counters?A. I've removed all the counters. What is left is a statistical monitor, used to track where my customers come from, how long they visit, what pages they are interested in, etc. Don't worry I don't know who you are and cannot bother you. All I see the ISP's number. You know, that we are exposed to market research everyday in one form or another throughout our life. What we eat, read, view, wear, drive, travel: all closely monitored by someone. Besides the USA, I get regular visits from many countries including: Canada. the UK, many European countries, Japan, Australia and Russia too. Many customers come via the Search Engines and Directories, but I get most direct due to my advertising. I need to track what customers asked for to understand how and why they came to my web site. I need to make advertising interesting and effective to turn browsers into customers.
Q. What does affiliate or in association with mean?A. When you go into a brick and mortar store you visit the various department, you see and touch merchandise from various sources. Many stores sell the same merchandise, from the same manufacturers, but a vastly different prices. SmartNetLinks marketPLACE is doing the same thing showing merchandise from many sources, other retailers and manufacturers, i.e., an associate or affiliate representing and presenting their product or service.......... with a nice discount because the overhead is so much lower.
Q. Why are there different stores every time I visit your website?A. I move stuff around to keep the site fresh. My affiliation with vendors and other stores is by mutual agreement. Those agreements can be terminated by either party. I keep a close watch on my daily traffic. Retailing is strickly a numbers game... if people don't visit, or they visit but don't buy... then as the saying goes... Houston, we have a problem!
A2. If I get any negative feedback about a site I've recommend, I remove it immediately, then I resolve the problem
A3. As you know, there is a huge shake down with dot com's. A great many have or are going out of business, going bankrupt or stop their affiliate programs. As a result you've, no doubt, noticed that more than a few are no longer represented on my site. They could still be in business. If they were one of your favorites... try a search to find their new location.
A. YES, it is completely safe. SmartNetLinks operates with a secure server (SSL, with 128 encryption) and all vendors operate with a secure server too. Your information is sent encrypted (jumbled). The receiver must unjumbled and reassembled. The are many different method of encryption. You can be assured that your information won't get into the wrong hands while it is being transmitted. Yep, there are hackers, but should something get intercepted, they've got incomplete, useless info. (Hacker could benefit society, but they choose to satisfy themselves, what a waste of talent...huh?)
This is a great question. The new digital era is here. Isn't this exciting: wireless internet on your wrist, in your cell phone, or in your palm computer. WARNING: All this information is sent in the air... it can be captured by anyone. Security isn't in place to protect confidential airborne information. When the wireless vendors can protect customers 100% I'll jump on the wagon, until then I'll stay with the hard wired stuff. It isn't 100% secure, but it is about as close as it can get for now. Hackers are trying every minute of every hour of every day to steal whatever they can...watch out.
Q. What are those links at the bottom of the home page for?
SmartNetLinks belongs to a long list of internet organizations which offer services to e-tailers to bring the best the internet offers. These links are actually cooperative advertising items. I'm helping them promote their site and in turn they promote mine. My page 3, B2B contains more of the list.
